How can you get involved?
Presently the countries involved with CensusAtSchool are the UK, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland and the Australian states of Queensland and South Australia. Data can also be obtained for Queensland (2001 and 2003) and South Australia (2003 and 2004).
If your country is not currently involved and you would like to explore the possibilities of involving your country in this unique innovative project then you should contact the International home of the project at the International Centre for Statistical Education based at the Plymouth University in the UK. This can be done by email or phone.
Teachers
You can involve your school and students in CensusAtSchool very easily indeed. The first step is to register an interest in the project (UK Registration only).
You can choose to involve as few or many students as you wish, just your class, a year group or the whole school. You will find a wealth of freely downloadable curriculum resources on your own countries site and can access real data from the International Databases accessible from the Random Data Selector.
We are a non-profit making organisation whose aims are dually to:
- Provide real data for real data-handling activities, including increased awareness of the uses of surveys and censuses;
- Increase integration of ICT methodology within teaching and learning.
