Census and the City

Learners are asked to estimate the population of a town from the entry in the Domesday Book.  They are then asked to plot the population of this town for different years and to predict the population in 2011.  Data from the Office for National Statistics is used to plot bar charts of the age distributions for a town and a city.  Learners are asked to make observations and conclusions from these charts. (Interpreting charts and graphs, percentages and line graphs (time series) for KS3 and KS4.)
